Recent Changes in GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation

GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award recognizes governments that create high quality budget documents that exhibit a strong policy document, financial plan, operation guide, and communication device. New for fiscal years beginning in 2021, GFOA made criteria related to strategic planning and performance measures mandatory items. This training will provide an overview of criteria and highlight numerous examples from a variety of governments. Focus will be on elements of the budget document including: the financial structure, financial and budget policies, and financial summaries, and strategic planning and performance measures. The new special recognition categories will also be covered.
