Special Recognition in Budget Presentation: FP

GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award recognizes governments that create high quality budget documents that exhibit a strong policy document, financial plan, operation guide, and communication device. New for fiscal years beginning in 2022, GFOA will begin awarding special recognition status for new categories, including presentation of financial policies. The focus of this training will be on how to present your financial policies in the budget document. Learn which policies to include and how to improve the accessibility and understanding of how financial policies impact budgetary decision making. Examples budget documents submitted to GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award program that receive high marks from judges will be highlighted and speakers will provide recommendations for how you too can produce a budget document worthy of "special recognition." Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and get specific guidance on GFOA's award program.
